Meta keywords meaning in English

Meta keywords

Meta keywords are a now relatively outdated but still widely used way of indicating to search engines keywords that describe the content of a webpage.

Meta keywords are not used by Google, but may be still be used by other less advanced search engines around the world.

The problem with meta keywords is that they were too easy to spam and often contained keywords which were not representative of the content of the page.

Example

<meta name="keywords" content="keyword1, keyword2" />
Code language: HTML, XML (xml)
