What is the Google Helpful Content Update?

Announced by Google with a blogpost on Google Search Central the 18th of April 2022, the Helpful Content Update is a Google algorithm update designed to improve search results for users.

The Helpful Content Update is designed to reward websites which have content that provides a satisfying user experience.

When does the Helpful Content Update go live?

The update started to roll out to English searches first from Monday 22nd August, and could take up to two weeks to fully roll out.

On December 5th 2022 Google began rolling out the Helpful Content Update classifier to content in all languages and locations worldwide.
